86-93 Mustang (GT/LX/Cobra) Kits

86-93 Mustang (GT/LX/Cobra) Kits

Mustangs are popular tuner cars because they're inexpensive and companies like us have been developing parts to get more performance out of them for decades. The variety of options means you can turn a Fox body into anything you want, but trying to find the right combination can be a major headache. Here at Anderson Ford Motorsport, we've been testing parts in-house for years, and we've used that knowledge to put together a series of Ford Mustang kits to give you everything you need for your build, whether you're looking for more power or ways to get that power under control for easier driving and lower track times. These kits should fit any V8 Mustang built between 1986 and 1993.

Fuel Tanks
In 2003 and 2004, the Mustang Cobra used a unique fuel tank that from the outside looks like any other Fox/SN-95 tank, but inside it has a perfectly-tuned baffle system to keep the fuel pump submerged no matter how much you throw the car around. Ford quit selling these tanks a few years ago, but Aeromotive stepped up to the plate, copying the design and making a few changes so it will work with any Fox-body car with a few modifications. Add in one of Aeromotive's pumps and all the lines and fittings needed for installation, and you have an easy solution to ensure your engine is always supplied with fuel, whether it's taking tight corners or launching at the drag strip.

Superchargers
Adding forced induction can get a lot of power out of your engine, but getting the fuel supply and ignition to work right, not to mention getting everything mounted, can be a challenge. We've done the work for you, creating kits built around Vortech superchargers. Our street systems include everything needed for installation including mounting brackets, fuel pumps, and engine management systems; once everything has been installed, the engine should work right out of the gate. Since we know you'll want to dial in your own fuel setup for a racing engine, we've built our kits to work with your setup, including just the basic mounting and plumbing hardware to go with the supercharger

Nitrous Oxide

Want the power of forced induction without the price or complexity? A nitrous system gets more oxygen into your engine by spraying nitrous oxide into the intake, and it cools down the intake charge to reduce knocking. We have several options from Nitrous Express to fit a range of intake setups including stock EFI, Trick Flow heads and generic kits that can be modified for unusual builds. These kits spray both nitrous and gas, adding the oxygen and fuel your engine needs to make power while leaving the rest of the intake untouched for regular driving.

Clutches
What's the difference between a 10 spline and 26 spline clutch kit? Mustangs come stock with a 10 spline input shaft which can't handle the massive amounts of power that tuners are getting out of Ford V8s; they've even been known to snap in half. Switching to a 26 spline shaft is relatively straight forward and spreads out the load to handle added power. We know this is a common swap, so we offer clutch kits to fit both input shafts.

We carry clutches, flywheels and other parts from Centerforce, Competition, Ford Racing and our own clutches developed in-house. Working on a high-revving build? Our Hi-Rev clutch design that can handle shifts up to 7,600 RPM without sticking, something that was only possible in the past with a pricey three finger clutch.

We know it can be overwhelming to make sure you get the right parts for your build. If you own one of these Mustangs, these kits include everything you need to get started. Whatever your goal is, these kits will allow you to take your Mustang to the next level.
